Dr. Maged Abdelaal is a Clinical Associate Professor and the Division Director of Prosthodontics.Dr. Abdelaal earned a BDS from Cairo University School of Dental Medicine, Egypt, in 2004. He completed a residency program in removable prosthodontics at Cairo University in 2009 and a master's degree in 2011. He was a faculty member in the removable prosthodontics department at Cairo University from 2009-2012. He was also in private practice part-time in Cairo for 8 yearsbefore coming to the U.S. in 2012and completing a certificate in prosthodontics and a second master's degree at the University of Iowa in 2015. From 2015-2019, he was a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. In 2019, he joined ECU School of Dental Medicince as a clinical assistant professor in the Division of Prosthodontics, Department of General Dentistry. Dr. Abdelaal's teaching activities include the areas of treatment planning in fixed prosthodontics, removableprosthodontics, dental implants and digital dentistry. Dr. Abdelaal's clinical interests include oral rehabilitation of complex cases with fixed, removable, and implant-supported prostheses and digital Dentistry. Dr. Abdelaal's research interests include removable, fixed, and implant prosthodontics; Biomaterials Science with focus on zirconia ceramics for dental applications.
