- Dr. Paquette is Professor and Chair of Surgical Sciences at East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, Master of Public Health, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and Certificate in Periodontics from Harvard University. Dr. Paquette has held previous academic and administrative positions at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Stony Brook University. Dr. Paquette is active in many international and national organizations including the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Education Association, and the American Dental Association. Dr. Paquette's major research interests include oral health disparities, the association between poor oral and systemic health, novel interventions for periodontal disease, and the scholarship of teaching and learning in dental education.
