Brief Biography for Prof. Russell Lemken: Russ Lemken is a tenure-track assistant professor of marketing in the Marketing and Supply Chain Management Department of the ECU College of Business in Greenville, NC. Prior to joining ECU, he served as a visiting assistant professor of Quantitative Analysis at the Louisiana Tech University College of Business in Ruston, LA. Russ has a passion for teaching quantitative methods to business students and has taught classes in marketing research and data analytics both as a regular member of faculty and as an adjunct instructor at Drake University in Des Moines, IA, the University of Washington in Tacoma, WA and Iowa State University in Ames, IA. He earned his PhD in Business and Technology from Iowa State University in 2017. Russ’ research explores the factors that influence strategy execution by multi-disciplinary teams and how these factors influence firm performance. Russ and his co-authors have emphasized practice relevance in academic research by partnering with industry organizations and corporations to conduct major studies. These studies have been presented at leading academic conferences and at industry meetings, and are widely applied in current practice. Prior to returning to earning his doctorate in 2017, Russ conducted research and provided strategic leadership for major financial services corporations for more than 25 years. His work as an executive has focused on managing large and complex distribution systems in the asset management, insurance and employee benefits industries. Most recently, Russ served as Managing Director and the head of marketing for the mutual fund business of Russell Investments in Seattle, WA.
