Dr. Richardson is an assistant professor in the Department of Nursing Science. She earned a BSN (2018) and PhD (2022) from East Carolina University, and she completed a NIH-sponsored T32 postdoctoral fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Richardson adopts community-based approaches in her research, which focuses on supporting families with mental health and responsive feeding during infancy. She is primarily interested in fathers' engagement in infant feeding and paternal mental health during the postpartum period. Dr. Richardson currently teaches Research in Nursing in the baccalaureate program. In addition to her academic role, she remains actively involved in clinical practice, working per diem as a maternal-newborn staff nurse.
