• I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering at East Carolina University. I hold a master's degree in Environmental Engineering from Chungnam National University in South Korea and a Ph.D. in Coastal and Oceanographic Engineering from the University of Florida. As an experienced numerical modeler, I developed the General Ocean Model (GOM), an advanced unstructured-grid, three-dimensional ocean circulation model featuring cutting-edge numerical schemes. I have made the GOM publicly available (https://ufgom.org/; https://github.com/jungwoo33/GOM_release), driven by my belief that knowledge flourishes through sharing and collaboration.
