As a professional dancer, Jessica Teague spent most of her 20-year dance career in Europe working with the Dutch National Ballet in the Netherlands, the Gothenburg Ballet in Sweden and the Royal Ballet of Flanders in Belgium. She received her first professional opportunity dancing for the Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle WA after completing her training at The School of American Ballet in New York City.
Jessica has performed a wide variety of classical, neo-classical and contemporary Ballet repertoire and toured internationally to dance festivals including the Edinburgh Arts festival, Lincoln Center Festival, Moscow Golden Mask Festival and the Shanghai World Expo. She has performed at iconic venues including the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Sadler's Wells London, Paris Opéra Bastille, and Grande Teatro La Fenice in Italy. She feels privileged to have worked personally in the studio with many of today's leading choreographers including William Forsythe, Jií Kylián, Mats Ek, Nacho Duato, Wayne McGregor, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Krzysztof Pastor, David Dawson, Nicolo Fonte, Christopher Wheeldon, Christian Spuck, Hans van Manen, Rudi van Dantzig, and many members of the Balanchine Trust.
Jessica holds a MA in Cultural Policy from City University in London, England and a BA in Art History and Criticism from The British Open University. She has also worked as a professional dance journalist and researcher contributing regularly to Dance Europe Magazine (EU) and the International Consortium for the Advancement of Choreography (Washington, DC) as well as numerous other print and digital publications. She is co-author of the bookBallet: The Definitive Illustrated Storypublished internationally in 2018 by DK Random House.
