I am a board-certified pediatrician and now board eligible for pediatric hematology/oncology after completing my fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Penn State Children's Hospital. During residency, I was involved in multiple quality improvement projects. My various quality improvement projects included improving hand hygiene, reducing medication dosing errors, improving breast feeding compliance, improving NICU and nursery reporting and order sets, and improving sepsis protocol within the children's hospital. In fellowship, I was involved in a variety of quality improvement projects including improvement of rounds and hospitalization care as well as infection prevention. During my 2 years of fellowship research, I worked under Dr. Chandrika Gowda on the use of a CK2 inhibitor to improve drug resistance in acute myeloid leukemia. I worked with a variety of cell lines and mouse models using cytarabine and the CK2 inhibitor CX-4945. I was able to present my research at the annual AACR conference in April 2023.
