I completed medical school in India before moving to the United States for training in Internal Medicine in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After working as a community hospitalist in Kinston, I relocated to Greenville, NC, where I live with my husband and two sons.
Having worked in diverse healthcare settings-from resource-limited environments to those with misutilized abundance-I developed a strong interest in quality improvement, high-value care, and patient safety. At ECU, I have contributed to various committees and have benefited from the Teachers of Quality Academy, Mentor Assistance Program, Accelerated Leadership Program, and LAPIN Program to further develop my expertise.
I am passionate about teaching, which led me to become the faculty advisor for the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety curriculum for Internal Medicine residents. Currently, I serve as Senior Medical Director for Quality for the Internal Medicine service line at ECU. More recently, I have also taken on the role of Associate Clerkship Director for M3 and M4 students, focusing on strategic improvement, and implementation of the medical student curriculum to provide the best possible experience for students rotating through Internal Medicine.
Through these roles, I continue to work toward improving the quality of care, ensuring patient safety, and mentoring the next generation of healthcare providers while also providing direct patient care.
