Over a decade, I have worked extensively on the influence of diet on key biochemical pathways associated with the pathogenesis of some degenerative diseases such as type-2 diabetes and hypertension as well as erectile dysfunction in relation to cardiovascular disease. Currently, my research interest focuses on the interplay between cardiovascular and renal diseases, with particular emphasis on the molecular and nutritional mechanisms underlying cardiorenal syndrome. I am especially interested in how bioactive nutrients and trace elements influence inflammation, oxidative stress, immune responses, and tissue remodeling following myocardial injury and chronic kidney dysfunction. My work integrates translational approaches including animal models, flow cytometry, proteomics, and molecular biology to identify therapeutic targets that can improve cardiovascular and renal health outcomes.
