• I study how ecosystems and societies interact before, during, and after hazards. My research focuses on how rising seas and hurricanes affect ecosystem services, and how ecosystem loss increases risks for people. By combining science and community knowledge, I aim to inform strategies that help both ecosystems and communities adapt to a changing world.
