Sandra was born and raised in Spain and is originally from Murcia. She holds a B.A. in English and a Master's degree in English Teaching for Secondary Education from the University of Murcia. In 2011, she moved to the United States to pursue a second Master's degree in Spanish and TESOL at West Virginia University, where she also worked as a Spanish Teaching Assistant. After graduating, she joined Coastal Carolina Community College as a full-time Spanish Instructor, a position she held for nearly ten years, including teaching online courses and serving as Department Head for several years. She later worked at Winthrop University as an adjunct instructor and Director of the Language Learning Center. Since 2024, she has taught Spanish online also as an adjunct instructor for Old Dominion University and North Carolina Central University. She is currently a member of the faculty at East Carolina University.
