Brittany Andrea Baker

  • Dr. Brittany A. Baker, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, CNE, is a nurse educator, family nurse practitioner, and academic leader with expertise in program evaluation, accreditation, and faculty development. She serves as a Clinical Associate Professor and Assistant Director for Program Evaluation at the East Carolina University College of Nursing, where she supports systematic, data-driven program evaluation processes that align with institutional priorities, regulatory expectations, and national accreditation standards.
    Dr. Baker has played a key role in advancing evaluation and accreditation efforts within the College of Nursing, including contributing to the successful Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) reaccreditation process and supporting program-level accreditation initiatives. As a trained CCNE on-site evaluator, she brings a national perspective to her work supporting continuous quality improvement in nursing education programs.
    In addition to her institutional leadership, Dr. Baker is actively engaged in national service and professional leadership. She currently serves on the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Patient Engagement Advisory Panel and contributes to national faculty development and engagement and outreach initiatives through her work with the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties.
    Dr. Baker's scholarship focuses on advancing health equity. Her work has explored topics including immunization uptake, disparities during the COVID-19 pandemic in rural areas of North Carolina, substance use disorder management, and the healthcare experiences of African American women survivors of violence. Through her leadership, scholarship, and service, Dr. Baker is committed to strengthening academic nursing and healthcare systems in ways that promote equity, quality, and meaningful impact.
