Carrie Bergeson

Dr. Carrie Bergeson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Science. She is a critical qualitative community-engaged scholar. She has engaged in community-based participatory action research, phenomenological research, and ethnographic research. Her primary scholarly work focuses on exploring, understanding, and empowering sense of community, programming, and social justice. Dr. Bergeson works with youth and vulnerable and marginalized populations to bring their lived experiences into professional spaces, and to further strengthen communities. She is also a certified family life educator, and is accredited in selective seminar level 2 and primary case level 3 with the evidence-based Triple P Program (Positive Parenting Program). Dr. Bergeson integrates theory, research, and practice to create scholarly work that can be used by and within communities.
